Your idea that trump could clean up this immigration mess by creating a pathway to citizenship is surprising and fascinating. Wouldn't that be great? Although my skin is white, many, many in my extended family are of mixed race with beautiful brown skin. I live in fear of any one of them being scooped up. It's terrifying and exhausting. Thanks for the new video. You always leave me thinking.

Trump fixing the immigration problem and establishing a pathway to citizenship would chap party asses on both sides of the aisle, and in my opinion, that would be a good thing. They’ve been using immigration as a political football far too long! It would be fascinating to see how he squares that circle — if he even tries. I’m looking forward to reading your take on this as a political professional, Mike.

Mike, thank you for this video today. I appreciate learning this history. As a Democrat this is like a no brainer. I'm obviously white but I've watched the GOP, now MAGA hammer Latinos/Hispanics for decades! They hammer we Democrats! Of course, I feel Democrats are better at economics than GOP. Maybe there is something I don't understand. I do find a Republican Hispanic/Latio voter bewildering. It is mind blowing for me to have to watch all of this. I am a native of LA and am sickened by what I am seeing. In AZ we've had a hispanic landscaper show up to do some work, requested by the landlord, just to be shot & killed by the renter - white of course. I was driving the other day behind a truck decorated full MAGA, 2! flags waving. He was driving beside a landscaper's truck, latinos inside, and staying with them to intimidate. I decided I was not going to allow any crap to happen so I stayed behind him and let traffic build up. The latino's just kept slowing down to drop back but I stayed behind the guy. I KNOW what the creep's intent was. I didn't drive home until I could no longer see the landscapers. It is sickening. I'm so very sorry for this horror we are living with. Thanks for letting me comment.

I just saw Tara Setmayer on MSNBC and Ruben Gallego has announced a trip to the Iowa State Fair? Iowa, which is hurting on so many levels from Trump's BBB?

Gavin Newsom is in South Carolina with Congressman James Clyburn? SC - Lindsey Graham's backyard?

Mike, is this the pre-grame to 2028🤥 ... ?

This administration has no ambition to fix immigration. This is not about illegals or legal immigration. This is about race, period. See what Vance said about “heritage” citizenship. Combined with Miller, he’s got a taste for the cruelty and the power, and he is not letting that go. If they fix immigration what will they have to use for their fear mongering and scapegoating. If they wanted to reform immigration laws then why spend so much money to fund ICE. As for my fellow Puerto Ricans, in S FL and PA especially. We are blessed with a U.S. Citizenship at birth and we need to stand with our Hispanic brothers & sisters and demand dignity and due process. They are us and we are them. Eventually they will come for us if we do not take a a stand now.

I agree Stephen Miller will not allow any brown people to remain if he can help it. Trump is old and tired and only cares about getting rich.

The CPAC Latino conference sounds like the GOP meetings in Indiana before MAGA.

Thanks for all the great insights, Mike. I’m horrified by what I’m seeing too.

One thought about the vote occurs to me, and I’m wondering about your take on it too:

In the last election, despite Trump’s promise of mass deportation, Latino votes for Republicans sharply increased. Now for years, the assumption was that Democrats had the Latino vote locked up.

MAGA made a point of saying that Democrats were for open borders and mass immigration because they saw Latinos as “their” voters, (including the non-citizens whom they insisted were illegally voting).

Given the shift in the last election, have Republican officeholders and campaign leaders changed their views about Latino voters potentially being their people, not future Dems? Might this shift make bipartisan immigration reform easier in a future Congress?

Yes. As I wrote in my book the long term effects is moderation in both parties as the Latino vote breaks more 50-50

Nobody’s gonna forget about the concentration camps, the grabbing of people off of work sites and schools and churches… nobody’s gonna forget about armed numbskulls, running in the streets terrorizing citizens snd non citizens terrorizing people
