That makes sense. Although I’m very concerned (and sad) about a generation of men feeling untethered and questioning their identity and worth. Men are more and more willing to be a part of the domestic side of family life than our Silent Generation fathers were. Hopefully that willingness will help with sense of purpose as society transforms. Not sure how that helps the 14-22 male demographic, however. I wish we had more male teachers. And fervently hope we do not destroy public education.

Mike, why do you think men are breaking more towards Trump? Is it the patriarchal nature of America in general? Or more of an economic reason? I think Gen Z voters are less likely to show the gender gap- what do you think? What do you think Gregory Rodriguez’s thoughts would be? (I miss Americanata btw).

I think a lot of it has to do with the diploma divide. So many more women are going to college than men. Men’s skills aren’t needed as much in the digital age. The traditional role of men is changing and young men are, rightfully, feeling less purpose. It’s tragic really - we’re not focusing on this massive transformative problem and too often we ridicule men for feeling this way. My guess is we will see much more destructive, anti-social behavior as this continues. Human beings don’t do well when they feel ostracized and purposeless in community/society.
