Dem leadership need to figure out that “older establishment dem voters” are reconnecting with their 1960s 1970s civil rights, women’s rights, anti war past and excited with the younger generations carrying that mantle… and on board with their children and grandchildren moving forward!! I have sat and reviewed the incident at the WHCD and the “attempt” was not a real attempt. Me along with 3 other LEOs ( law enforcement officers) watched, investigated, and used software officers use when a video is grainy. Not available to the public. I find it strange that has not been released by ANY agency involved. If they did not conduct a residue test, this guy might get off on charges. But from each one of us, we don’t see he was shot by the assailant. That the age t directly across from DID fire, and shot directly across from himself, missed the assailant and hit the agent.
Furthermore, the assailant did not fire a shot.
Let’s say he did. If anyone has shot a shotgun buck or no buck shot-we would have heard a louder noise. Two agents did shoot, by the distinct sound of a 9mm vs a 45. Not a shotgun.
That agent was shot by friendly fire.
I will be writing up our findings by later this afternoon. I’m awaiting to get use of the only current deputy will allow me to use the video that was “cleaned up” to rid itself of grainy. It’s not available to the public.”
All of it is excellent insight. I think it is true that the Democratic Party is having a very hard time recognizing its base demographic is changing but that the ties that bind the base together are exactly the same. The base is still working class. It is just that the working class is no longer white guys carrying a lunch pail to work in a unionized factory.
What Democrats ignore is that when the party delivered privatization, off-shoring and other policies based on the fallacy of "trickle-down" instead of protecting good jobs, reining in corporate rapacity, regulating business in the good of the general welfare, it put today's working class pretty much right back where it was in 1932. The working class flirted with Trump, but has figured out he and MAGA are going to completely ruin their lives. However, it has not concluded Democrats will make their life better yet. This is going to be a change or a backlash election. This is going to be Americans telling Trump/Republicans to take a hike.
We will see Republicans kicked out of office from Senator down to dog catcher. But, it will not be a mandate. It will be a backlash against Republicans. The backlash is not trust in Democrats. It will be an opportunity for Democrats to earn these voters' trust. Democrats will be on probation if we win in the fall. And if we don't perform, voters just might swing right back to Republicans in 2028. You know Republicans are much better at tearing Democrats down than actually governing on their own. When they are in the minority, they will immediately start undermining Democrats.
