Are Democrats now looking for boring competency over flashy style after the Swalwell implosion? Mike Madrid asks the question AND moderates the debate.
California relatives who are movers, shakers, retired, professionals, critical thinkers, and who VOTE! ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธThose who I asked to share with others in our California family and with friends!
Well done, Mike, it's the quality of questions and not the quantity asked that makes an effective debate. I'm sorry to see Betty Yee drop from the race. If I were the next governor, I'd most definitely find a role for her in my administration.
Such a great debate program. Well done Mr Madrid. I really liked Becerra and Yee and to my surprise, also Steyer. Iโll be paying close attention to our candidates and Iโll be sharing this debate during the short time we have to decide on our candidates.
Great post Mike, interesting to see the similarities of each candidate and approaches to resolution. This forum helps explain why the field is so crowded. Affordability: Healthcare. Housing. Education. Inflation. Balance the budget. Not rocket science, likely the same issues for the last 40 years. Wake up dems!! Who is willing to actually govern? I also consider who is backing the candidates and who is in opposition to the candidate.
I like Villaraigosa and Mahan. Both give us a solid, confident person with experience to back them up. The question of MC4A: what is never answered is the how do we get there? Steyer said it will take years - I don't think that's a reality for working class people as well as, working class people who are still in unions. Mr. Hilton wants to do away with teachers unions? Teachers rely on their union who, IMHO, seen to stand by their members so this is a non-starter for me. While they all came with their platforms and presented them, Villaraigosa and Mahan stood out to me, both talking about working class people.
I am actually working at this debate and I canโt wait to hear it
Excellent!

Where was Katie?
She chose not to attend
Unfortunate choice

Did Katie Porter drop out or is there another reason she is not there?
Listening now, Mike, with great interest!
Thank you for addressing these issues because here on Long Island I am seeing much the same issues and I'm writing a Substack concerning them.
